The Clothiers has definitely gone up in the world! The restaurant makeover looks fantastic, and we had a wonderful Saturday evening meal. I chose the game pie of the day, which was absolutely delicious. The waitress was lovely and helpful too.

First visit since the new management, and I wasn’t disappointed. I came with friends on Friday evening, and both the bar and restaurant were busy with a good, friendly atmosphere. There’s a varied menu and a good range of vegetarian options. The Friday fish and chips deal includes a free drink, which was good value. Service was a bit slow, and our table was sticky, so I’m giving it a 4. I’ll be back to try the roast soon 😁

I’ve had dinner here both nights of a two-night work trip, and neither meal disappointed. The game pie was fantastic, and the Guinness was perfect. The chef is top notch, and the bar staff know how to pour a good pint and are friendly. Shame it’s three hours from my house, or I’d be a regular!

We shared the cider and berry crumble with custard, and it was piping hot and very tasty. The team were friendly and attentive to all the tables in both the bar and restaurant. The newly renovated restaurant is tastefully decorated, and we were warmly welcomed as soon as we came in. For lunch, I had the Fish & Chips, which was lovely and hot, with crispy batter and nicely cooked chips. My husband had the trio of sausages with mash & red onion gravy. It came with three plump sausages, good mash, and plenty of gravy. He usually asks for extra because the dish can be a little dry, but this time there was enough. Good food, service, and a varied menu, definitely worth a visit.

We stayed two nights over a short Christmas break. Breakfast was good, though parking was tight and could be difficult depending on the car during the Christmas period. The room had okay equipment but felt a little cramped for the two of us and our dog. Staff were friendly enough.
