Old Fleece Apartments

The inclusive toilet was an experience in itself 👍 We visited this great pub last Sunday for a roast, and the service started well: Google Maps sent us to the wrong Old Fleece nearby, but when I was five minutes late, staff called to point me in the right direction. I had the beef roast. The meat was very tender, and the sauce, potatoes and everything else were awesome. I added a little salt to bring the flavours out more. One of the best roasts I’ve had in ages!

The Old Fleece is a beautiful, solid pub and a real asset to the area. Most of it has a lovely atmosphere, though the older overspill section is less fun. The food is decent but towards the pricey end, and the beer selection could be better.

We’ve eaten at the Old Fleece many times, and the expansion has made the surroundings and the experience significantly better. Our meal for four was memorable, with everyone trying different parts of the menu. Great food, staff and venue. Thank you.

We spent one night at The Old Fleece on 6-7 December 2025. The room was clean when we arrived, but it was missing one shower towel and several hand and face towels. Soon after one of us began showering, a staff member knocked to say water was leaking downstairs and asked us to stop immediately. A few minutes later we were told we could carry on, but only “the quicker, the better.” We asked to move rooms and were told the hotel was full. It was an inconvenient disruption, and we couldn’t use the facilities comfortably. I emailed the business about it afterward and still haven’t had a reply.
