We had about 20 people at our wedding reception at The Mill this weekend, and it was just right for an intimate celebration. The staff looked after us and our guests brilliantly, with warm smiles and professionalism from the afternoon through the night. They really went above and beyond. It was handy not having far to walk afterwards, too. Thank you to everyone at The Mill Hotel. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovely and helpful, but breakfast was very busy and we had to queue while the serving dishes were refilled. Our room had no view, unlike the other side of the building, which looks out over fields, ponds and wildlife. The place is comfortable enough, though the room could use a little updating. There was mould in and around the shower and on the windows, and the shower head needed descaling.

The room was basic but clean, with a comfortable bed and a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and every staff member I met was friendly. The bedroom windows at the back had lovely river views. I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading what others said about the hotel, but it was fine, nothing wrong with it and nothing special.

The staff were always friendly, professional and happy to help during our lovely two-day stay at The Mill Hotel Sudbury. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel has plenty of charm with a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with a good range and fresh, quality food that set us up well for the day. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it. The location is beautiful, too.

Valentine's Day was ruined for us by this stay. After booking a room, we arrived and were put in the tiniest room imaginable in a cottage across the road. There was no parking, so we left the car on a side road and walked to the hotel. The shower was broken, leaving us to strip wash in a basin, and the room was cold because the radiator was off. The water system also squeaked whenever anyone in that area used it. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff seemed friendly, but I’d recommend avoiding this hotel.
