Starbucks is only a short walk away inside The Village Hotel, which has a nice bar, a good menu and big TVs. We had a fab week here. The Waterfront setting is lovely, and the walk into town is easy, pretty and felt safe. Breakfast was great and started at 6.30am, while Tesco Express, open from 6am, has the usual meal deals and a cash machine attached. The Beefeater restaurant was busy, and the evening meals looked good. Our room was clean and fine, though the place could use some fresh paint. Still, I’d definitely recommend it.
The hotel was very hot throughout, especially the lobby and hallways. Both rooms had the AC set to 28°, so it was unpleasantly warm when we first got in. Once we turned it down, it worked and things were okay. The rooms themselves were tidy and looked after. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the town centre, and parking was easy, at £6 for 24 hours when we visited.
Breakfast staff were welcoming, and the food was cooked and set out well, pretty much what you’d expect from a budget hotel. Our room was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and a good temperature. It can seem a bit out of town, but central Swansea is about a 10-minute walk away. Parking is next door: cash is £6 for 24 hours, while RingGo is available but costs more and isn’t advertised at the car park. I’ve stayed here several times and would recommend it. It ticks all the boxes.
The location makes for a pleasant, short walk into town, and there’s plenty of parking next door for £6 per day, payable by card or cash. There’s also a Tesco Express joined to the hotel. Gina at check-in was excellent and a real credit to the place. The room was standard PI, with a comfortable bed, firm pillows and basic amenities. The bathroom, though, was very scruffy and badly needs updating. Breakfast was surprisingly good for £10.
The little note in our room was a lovely touch. Those extra bits of thought do add up, and the staff were friendly. It was our second stay, so this time I already knew how the parking worked. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable as always, and we had a lovely stay, though it got a little warm in the evening. Breakfast was okay. They cooked the sausages well, but I still don’t like them. It’s a bargain for a big family, but with just one adult and one child I felt we were paying for larger families, so to speak. We also waited quite a while for an egg after they ran out. That wasn’t the staff’s fault, some people can be greedy with these things. Thanks for a lovely stay.
