The meal was delicious, especially the starters and mains. Every mouthful was heavenly, and the menu clearly favours quality over quantity. Service was welcoming and efficient too. We’d booked the private room for eight, which made for a wonderful special occasion. For the restaurant alone, it gets five stars from me.

We had a short stay for a family wedding, and it was such a beautiful day and weekend. The wedding planner and staff were amazing, the service was excellent, and everything for the small wedding was arranged with precision and style. The food was the best I’ve ever had or seen, even compared with hotels I’ve stayed in and some cruises I’ve been on. The main road earns it four stars for location, but it didn’t affect the day, service or stay at all. I’d definitely consider it for my own wedding in the near future, and highly recommend it.

We celebrated my Mum’s 60th birthday last night in the private dining room. The staff were kind, friendly and helpful, checking in several times during the evening. The service was excellent, and we loved the food. A big thank you to everyone who helped make it special. I’d recommend this place for a special occasion.

We were here for my son’s wedding, and the team helped make it truly special and memorable. The food was world-class, with everything made to perfection, and the bar and outdoor gardens with sun shades were great. There’s a big car park with plenty of space, and the entrance is wider than it looks. The listed building is very well maintained and keeps its period features, while the rooms are modern, clean and immaculate. The staff were lovely, hardworking and always available without getting in the way. Everything ran efficiently, and I’d be very happy to stay again.

The Highworth is worth the splurge for Sunday roast. My nut roast was one of the best I’ve had, packed with nuts and woodland mushrooms and not dry at all. There’s a great choice of meats too. Each roast came with generous vegetables: carrot and potato mash, roasted carrots and potatoes, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, and huge homemade Yorkshire puddings. It was top-notch food with very generous portions, like Christmas dinner and that lovely overfull feeling afterwards. Every penny was worth it.
