ibis budget Swindon

Tanya was a star during our stay at the Ibis. Her friendly, cheerful manner really stood out, and she kept everything running smoothly. The dining room had a relaxed, happy feel as well. We came from South Africa and needed a clean, comfortable room at a good price so we could easily see family. It worked perfectly for us. Thank you, Tanya, it was lovely to see you bring such a great attitude to the job.

The reception staff member was polite, nice and gave good service. The place was clean and good value, which is what I needed for a basic one night stay. I hadn’t checked the location first, doh, and my room faced a brick wall, but I wasn’t there for the view. It’s handy for the train station. Just be aware that on a Saturday night you can still hear noise from the bars and clubs at 2:17am if you’re not out and about. That was the downside, but generally it was good.

The location is good, but the rest of the stay was awful. The main door is confusing because you can’t see the button it tells you to press, and self check-in didn’t work. Once inside, there wasn’t much of a cheerful welcome either. The pillows were far too soft and there weren’t enough of them. I was so worn out by the stay that I didn’t even attempt breakfast. Everything felt budget apart from the price.

Run. The blanket made me itchy, the room gave me a cold, and there was such a strong smell that it gave me a headache. For the first time in my life, I had to find another hotel even though I’d already paid for this one.
