Breakfast in the room, with the harbour outside, was such a nice touch. The guesthouse felt cosy and really well cared for, right down to the tartan stair runner, the bed setup and the artwork. Lovely place, lovely host, and a great stay.

The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, and booking was straightforward with good communication from the host. For breakfast, we would have liked a healthy fruit or yoghurt option. I understand it’s hard to cater to everyone, though.

We’d happily stay here again when passing through Tarbert for an early ferry. There’s plenty of parking along the harbour front, and the room had lovely harbour views with an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast is ordered the night before on a form left on the table outside your room, then delivered at the time you choose between 7:30 and 8:30. A very pleasant stay in a high quality guest house.

The harbour views from the Chieftain suite were absolutely stunning, and breakfast in the room was tasty and plentiful. The bacon bap was awesome. We had a stylish living area with a smart TV, so we could watch the Lions' test match using our own Now TV subscription. There were fluffy towels, a great shower and a comfy bed too. We had a really lovely stay at Knap Guest House.

The mattress was the real standout, firm and just right, one of the best I’ve ever tried. Knap guest house is a lovely place to stay when visiting town. Alan was welcoming and great to deal with, breakfast was simple and arrived right when you wanted it, and the rooms were clean and tidy.
