The three of us, including our five-year-old, had a lovely short stay here after a day in Bristol. Dinner was delicious, breakfast was fab, and the bed was comfy. The welcome was warm too. We’d happily come back if we get the chance.

I stay at The Temple Inn often for work, and the sleep is so good I’m starting to favor it over home. The bed there may be taking this personally. The rooms are spotless and modern, and Adam and Lee make arriving feel like catching up with friends. They’re welcoming without making a fuss. The food’s fresh, delicious, and such good value. I’ve had meals here that made me question my loyalty to the restaurants near home. The chefs deserve a round of applause, maybe even a trophy. Honestly, I’d consider forwarding my mail here, though I’d need to avoid the dates I’m staying for work.

Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The evening was less pleasant: the car park was full, and by 7.15 they’d run out of beef steak, gammon steak, and other items. At the bar, five guys were very loud and used the F word a lot, with little respect for the other customers eating and drinking.

The roast was worth the price, easily the best we’ve had in or out of Bristol in years. My partner’s vegetarian and quite particular about pub veggie options, but thought theirs were fantastic. I had pork belly that was the crispiest I’d had in a long time, plus properly cheesy cauliflower cheese and lovely veg. They’ve got gorge best ale on too. Brilliant, we’ll definitely be back!

Just off the A37 after Clutton, The Temple Inn Pub is a traditional pub and worth stopping at for a bite. The Manger is really friendly and inviting, and the food is really good.
