The only bright spot was the woman who welcomed us and checked that our food was alright. She was doing a lot of the work while a group of girls stood around talking and one man and another woman handled the bar and restaurant tasks. It was uncomfortable to watch staff being treated that way, and the whole thing came across as unprofessional. I came in for lunch, but I won't return until the bar and restaurant are run by people who are kinder and more friendly.

The building has that classic old restaurant feel, and the food was fantastic. Staff were lovely and friendly, and the location was ideal. The downsides were the noisy heating and the ceiling: it creaks and cracks, and I could hear every footstep thumping around upstairs.

We had a very enjoyable stay, especially thanks to the comfortable bed. The breakfast was good too. Both are things that can be hard to find in hotels.

We had an amazing Sunday Roast, especially the potatoes, and the staff were lovely. There was plenty of room for our larger group, so it worked really well for families too.
