Premier Inn Thurso

Demi, Fiona and Emma the chef made breakfast such a lovely experience. They were friendly and went out of their way for everyone, especially my daughter, who they made feel very welcome. We stayed five nights over the festive period and found the room immaculate. It was cleaned and refreshed during our stay, too. Check-in was easy even though we arrived around 9pm, thanks to the self-service option. A bit more clothes storage would have helped in the family room, but we managed. Very reasonably priced, and I'd happily come back.

The room service was much better when we stayed here in October, so our holiday stay this time was a real disappointment. On the third night we asked for cleaning and fresh towels. When we got back, the used tea bags and rubbish were still there, and the towels had just been left out unfolded. It seemed like the hotel didn't have enough cleaning staff throughout our stay. A chain like Premier Inn should be able to keep enough trained staff to meet basic standards. We wouldn't recommend it after this experience, and won't be returning.

The food was spectacular, and the service was friendly, kind and prompt. I live locally with my daughter, and we decided to try the place after hearing good things. Kelsey, I think that was her name, was especially sweet to my daughter and gave her things to draw with. Tracy was very kind to us too. We were really pleased and would definitely come again.

Breakfast was excellent, and dinner was good straightforward food, though we had to wait to be served. The staff were friendly, a welcome change after a few less consistent stays at older Premier Inns in Warrington, Falkirk and Aberdeen. This newer hotel was neat inside, with automated check-in and ample parking. Our room was clean, laid out well, and everything worked, including the AC. The shower was good, a proper one rather than over a bath, though I understand that's how the larger rooms are set up. Usual fittings.
