We stopped in for lunch while looking for a house in the area. There’s a good choice of food and ales, seating indoors and outside, and a large car park. The location is lovely, overlooking the River Tamar towards Devonport Naval Base.

We’ve just spent four days here, and the setting is beautiful. The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you. The food is amazing, and our room was beautiful and spacious. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was excellent, especially breakfast, and the location was great. We had very nice rooms, and the staff were great from arrival to departure. A big thank you to Gemma for arranging our early arrival and being such an excellent host.

We pulled in for a quick beer on the way to nearby National Trust Antony House. The lanes are very steep on a bike, but the remote spot adds to the charm. The tide was out, so the view we’d been promised was a bit disappointing: miles of mud flats before the water starts. The palm-filled garden felt like a Caribbean island, though, and the Cornish lager was well chilled. The food looked good.

Gemma deserves a mention for the crab sandwiches, they were lovely. The food and customer service were both great, and the pub is in a brilliant spot. A lovely little pub, just how one should be.
