Hampton by Hilton Torquay

The staff make this feel like a home away from home for us. They’re always welcoming and happy to help, whether it’s an extra pillow or towel. Iryna is so professional, and we really appreciate Caitlin recommending a room. Kate and Meg work incredibly hard at breakfast, and I have a lot of time for them both. The hotel is in a perfect spot, with some rooms overlooking the harbour. I always stay here, and the rooms are spotless. I also like being able to mirror my phone to the smart TVs. The gym has enough equipment for cardio and weights.

The lift from reception down to the street below was a feature I really liked. It’s a nice hotel in a good location, with a comfortable bed and a good shower, though the shower door was missing. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and the machine coffee was surprisingly good. Our room looked onto the Premier Inn opposite, whose bright purple floodlights kept shining through the gap in the curtains. It was a good two-night stay, and I’d stay again.

Aneta and Vanessa helped with my room service needs, and their care and dedication really impressed me. Their work may seem less important to some, but I appreciated their help enormously. The House Keeping Team are often unseen, yet their genuine helpfulness made my stay more comfortable. I hope the hotel gives both ladies some formal recognition.

I booked three rooms and needed to cancel one within the cancellation policy, which should have meant a full refund. I was told the refund would be processed and that a revised invoice would be sent, which I need for a claim. So far there’s been no refund or revised invoice, despite two phone calls, three in-person conversations and two emails.
