Pendley Manor

Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, with lots of choice and good service. The spa and pool area was clean and calm, and the swimming pool was warm. We spent a couple of hours there and used the steam rooms. Every staff member we met was friendly and polite, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We were at Pendley Manor for my husband’s birthday. Check-in was quick and smooth, and Adrian was efficient, professional and polite. He kindly told us we’d been given a complimentary room upgrade, which we really appreciated. The room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and well equipped for a short stay. The bathroom was huge and beautiful, and reception staff had left a birthday card signed by them, a lovely personal touch. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend Pendley Manor. Thank you for making the stay so enjoyable.

We had dinner in the bar area, and the food was great. The old manor house is beautiful, with a lovely pool and spa, and the hotel was very accommodating for families. We stayed one night with our kids for a staycation and would definitely come back.

We enjoyed the grounds and the large flock of peacocks in the morning before setting off. This was a stop to break up a long journey, and we’d absolutely stay again. Though we were only there for one night, we made the most of the facilities, swimming late in the evening and again first thing. The pool was a little chilly, but a good size and lovely for the kids. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Everyone we met was friendly. Rebecca at reception deserves a special mention for her warm welcome and clear explanation of the facilities. Lovely place to stay, with beautiful surroundings.

The location is great, but parking was a nightmare. When the main car park is full, you may have to leave the car in a field and walk to the building. I imagine that’s unpleasant in wet weather. Getting around is hard if you have difficulty walking, or have a pushchair or wheelchair. There are no lifts and lots of stairs. Our room was nicely decorated but very small, with barely enough space for two people to move around or get ready at the same time. Fortunately we were there for only one night. We stayed at the Premier Inn the next night, where the room felt much more spacious and pleasant. Reception staff were pleasant enough, though I didn’t interact with anyone else. The price and advertising didn’t match the experience for me. Poor value for money, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Hence the one star.
