The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a pleasant side view, but it was the people who really made the stay. The receptionist who checked me in was friendly and helpful, and everyone I encountered was a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was outstanding: I had pancakes and a couple of pastries, and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The waitress serving afternoon tea was lovely and gave brilliant service, even though I didn’t catch her name. The next morning, a staff member asked how I’d enjoyed the tea the day before, which felt really thoughtful and proactive. Jodie from the spa team also gave me one of the best facials I’ve ever had. I’d happily recommend the Marine hotel to friends and family, and I’m already looking forward to going back.

We’d definitely return. Dinner and breakfast were both really good, and the staff were so lovely and helpful that they made the stay for us. The room was on the small side, but it had everything we needed, and it was clean and comfortable.

The food was fantastic, and the staff were polite and helped with all our requests. There were 12 adults and a toddler in our group for Sunday lunch. Since we didn’t want the full Sunday lunch, we were able to choose from any of the menus. A glorious meal.

We all enjoyed our afternoon tea, especially our 11-year-old daughter, who thought it felt very fancy. The three of us were my fiancé, our daughter and me, and there was plenty to eat. The venue was lovely, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely come again.

The location and views are amazing, and it’s great that the hotel welcomes dogs. We enjoyed the spa and pool, and breakfast was good. Service was excellent, while the restaurant choices were very good but pricey. The rooms felt small and dated compared with other hotels in this price range. There also isn’t a comfortable lounge to get away from a small room and read when it’s raining.
