South Beach Hotel

The buffet and drinks were greatly appreciated, especially the chicken tempura and steak pies, which were definite favourites. Thank you to South Beach for helping us through such a difficult day. I booked a funeral tea last week, and the booking was easy and straightforward. On the day, the service was outstanding: staff welcomed our guests at the front door, hung up jackets and kept everyone informed about what was happening and when. It was a lovely place to raise a glass in celebration of our loved one.

We were a group of 22, and everyone was delighted with the hotel. The food was amazing, varied and perfectly prepared, but the service was the best part. Nothing was too much trouble, and all the staff were friendly. It’s clearly a family-run hotel with old-school customer service principles. The location is right on the beach, with only a short walk into town.

The meals were delicious 😋, and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is near the sea, with a lovely view from our room. It’s a little tired, but I liked it overall.

We went as a group for summer afternoon tea, and the spread was amazing. We each had a warm sausage roll, plus a huge tray of sandwiches, then home-baked scones with jam and cakes for something sweet. The hotel is beautiful, with attention to detail in keeping it as authentic as possible. Staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem. Paying was easy too. I’d highly recommend coming back.
