I keep coming back whenever work brings me to the area, about five or six stays over the past three years, even though home is four and a half hours away. It feels like a little break from work, and I feel safe and well looked after travelling alone. The staff are what make the place. Check-in is personal, the waiting team are genuine and attentive, and the chef clearly takes quality seriously. Every starter, main and breakfast I’ve had has been good. They even ask where you’d feel comfortable sitting on your own, and, if you bring a dog, whether they can fuss it and where it should sit. You can tell they listen and adapt to each person. My room has always been lovely, with a really comfy bed, fresh sheets, different pillow options, a good workspace and proper biscuits alongside a range of tea bags. Parking is easy too. Can’t fault it, 10/10 every time. What a great team. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We make this our regular stop around Truro when we want a quick meal that’s still good quality. The menu is pub food with plenty of local produce, and the prices are reasonable for the area. It’s clean and tidy, parking is easy, and service is friendly, efficient and quick. Well worth eating here.

We had a big family lunch out today, and the staff couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. They were especially helpful and accommodating when we surprised my Dad with the huge cake I’d made for his 88th birthday. Many thanks to all of you, 10 out of 10 for so many things.

We eat here all the time and the carvery is always great. The chef is fab, and the staff are cheerful, friendly and attentive. Christmas Day was just as good as any other visit, even with some staff away from their families. I saw a man arrive alone without a booking and ask for a meal. The manager first explained the situation, then checked whether he was on his own and went out of his way to welcome him. It was lovely to see how compassionate he was. What a darling.
