We had really nice food, served quickly, and the staff were very friendly. There's a good range of food and drink, lovely harbour views, and dogs are welcome too. I'd definitely eat here again when visiting St Mawes.

Suite 3 was the loveliest room we've ever stayed in, with gorgeous harbour views and a luxurious bathroom. The attention to detail was second to none: toweling bathrobes, dry robes in the closet, bottled water, fresh milk in the fridge, and a fine selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. The decor throughout this beautiful boutique pub and hotel is stunning. Staff were friendly and chatty, while still really professional. We had an amazing roast dinner and dessert, and breakfast was fresh, tasty and plentiful. St Mawes is beautiful, with plenty of good walks. If you'd rather, the ferry to Falmouth makes for an equally nice day exploring shops and bars. Thanks, @Rising Sun, we'll certainly come back and stay again. 😊

The room was beautifully clean, the staff were super, and it's a fabulous place. We arrived late, and the hotel rang to let us know the kitchen closed at 9 and ask if we wanted something ordered for when we got there. That really showed the attentive service. A fantastic weekend stay, and I'm sure we'll return.

We could watch a stunning sunset over the river from the beer garden, and the staff were so welcoming. What a treat staying at the Rising Sun. The room was amazing, and we'll definitely visit again.

We had a very enjoyable late November stay with our two dogs. The breakfasts were delicious and generous, especially the two smoked salmon options, and the staff were friendly, efficient and personable. Room no.3 was clean and well appointed, with lovely linen, a very comfortable super king bed, a large bath and shower room, and good harbour views. There was no hairdryer. Our only reason for not staying overnight here again is the intermittent droning noise from the en suite and neighbouring room, which went on day and night. It seemed to come from the water pipes serving the shower and basin and made the faucets vibrate. It was very distracting. We didn't mention it at the time because it seemed unlikely the issue wasn't already known. Apart from that, The Rising Sun is a great option for a short, dog friendly stay in a beautiful location.
