Polgwedhen Lodge

We had a perfect Christmas as a couple. The cabin and its surroundings were just right, and the hosts were so helpful. It’s an amazing place to stay, and we’ll definitely be back to the lodge and Cornwall.

We’ve just come back from two nights here. The place was beautiful and quiet, with only the wildlife sounds around us. There was a cream tea waiting when we arrived, and our cocker spaniel George loved doing several laps around the lake. Vanda, the owner, came down to introduce herself and made us feel welcome.

We’ve already decided to return next year because we love it here. The lodge is beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a veranda for eating outside or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. It’s set among lovely trees beside a lake, and Vanda made us feel very welcome and provided everything we could need, including a wonderful cream tea on arrival. We couldn’t fault this amazing place.

We can see why so many people come back. We’re among them now, and it was a perfect five-star stay. The lodge is cosy, spotless, comfortable and homely, with all the amenities we needed. A lovely fresh cream tea was waiting for us on arrival. Vanda was friendly and checked in on our first evening to introduce herself and make sure everything was okay, which it was. The setting was ideal for us and the dogs: private and peaceful, overlooking a beautiful lake where we could watch and hear the wildlife. There was no light pollution. It’s also centrally placed in Cornwall, near Truro and Newquay, among other places. Highly recommend this tranquil hidden gem.
