I’ve been here plenty of times over the years, but today was a bad visit. The server was friendly, though his nose was running the whole time and he kept wiping it while serving food, which didn’t feel hygienic. The affogato now includes alcohol, which I didn’t want, and it cost a lot to get it without. There were still lots of coffee granules in the drink, which should be smooth. The brownie came with a sauce I couldn’t eat. I left it all behind because it was awful, and the prices felt far too high. I couldn’t finish anything. If you’re in the area, I’d try somewhere else.

My team had booked Christmas lunch at The Globe in Warwick for 15 December 2025, and we each paid a £10 deposit. I couldn’t make it because of a sudden family emergency: I had to collect my unwell mother-in-law from the airport. My team explained what had happened to the staff beforehand, but they showed no understanding and asked my colleagues to chase me for the full meal payment, even though I hadn’t eaten there. I paid in the end to avoid more stress. The lack of compassion and customer care was deeply upsetting, especially around Christmas. This rigid approach is disappointing for a hospitality business. I’d urge people to think twice before booking an event here.

The roast was beautiful, especially the sirloin, one of the best I’ve ever had. The decor was lovely too, but the service really spoiled things. It was a quiet Sunday, yet our order took 30 minutes to be taken, and we waited 20 minutes for second drinks. Food sat waiting to be collected while staff stood around. In the end, the chef carried plates out. One of the newer wait staff seemed uncertain, but was making more effort than the others. I hope they can get the service moving faster.

I tried the steak, seabass, minestrone soup and tiramisu. That steak left a memory on my palate I won’t forget. The food was fabulous.

The location and decor are nice, and dogs are welcome, though there are restricted areas they can’t enter. I’ve come for dinner a few times, but the food has been pretty bad on my last visits. The gammon and roast dinner were both disappointing. I would still recommend stopping for a drink.
