Beeches Hotel Leisure Club and Spa

The pool and sauna were why I chose this place, and both the sauna and jacuzzi were great. The pool isn't Olympic-sized, but you can manage a few very short lengths. Everything was spotless, including the gym and pool changing rooms. Breakfast was good too, especially the chef working Friday the 24th. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Mary gave me a lovely welcome and helped me check in. My single room was cosy, and the desk felt more like a vanity, but there was plenty of room to study in the dining area and bar. It's about a 15-minute bus ride to the city centre. There was a constant hum from fans or generators around the windows, and I could just about hear my neighbour walking around, using the toilet, or sneezing. With walls that thin, screaming kids would be a nightmare! The room hairdryers are also very old, so ladies, remember to bring your own. I forgot mine. Still, I'd recommend it for solo or business travellers, or a mature family. If I'm in Nottingham again, I'd definitely stay here. My first solo trip to Nottingham was unforgettable, thank you!

The receptionist was lovely and friendly when we arrived, and the staff were nice. But the place had a strong musty, damp smell, so we couldn't even use the wardrobe for our clothes. We booked a junior suite with a king bed in one room and a single in the other. To reach the tiny bathroom, you had to go through that second bedroom. The bathroom badly needs updating, and its shower door wouldn't shut properly, leaving the floor soaked. There was also a very dirty window high up where nobody could reach it. The whole place could use some TLC.

My friends and I stayed about a month ago, and we had a great time. The rooms were nice, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We'd stay here again!

Free parking and the extra facilities were included in the price, which was great. The pool was a good size, and the jacuzzi was nice; the gym looked good too. Our room did get warm, as other reviews have mentioned, but there was a fan waiting for us when we arrived, so it wasn't a problem. It seems the hotel has taken that feedback on board. We booked a king room for one night and were satisfied. The room was clean and spacious enough, and the lady at reception was really welcoming. I'd consider staying here again.
