Mercure Birmingham West Hotel

Gerry at reception deserves a special mention. She was friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout, and her excellent service made a strong first impression. The stay itself was very enjoyable too. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well presented, with courteous, attentive staff and a relaxed, welcoming feel. A good option for a comfortable, stress-free stay.

Breakfast was great, and the service stood out, especially Markuss, who was very helpful. The evening food was good value too. This time I had a clean, good-quality room with one of the newer style TVs, though room quality seems to vary at this standard hotel. The gym is basic but functional. I did notice some very odd cleaning smells in the corridors and stairwells, and parking costs extra.

The breakfast was outstanding, and Markuss was very helpful with our order. There’s a pool as well, and the staff were great. The young woman at reception was especially helpful. Well done!

The room was spotless when I arrived, and the double was just right for me while I was here for a conference. It was a great place to come back to, with staff who were helpful and mostly friendly. Breakfast was okay, though the scrambled eggs were awful and the pastries were cold. Still, it was a good stay overall.
