We've eaten here a few times and the food has been lovely each time. Monica & Angelina are great with us and behind the bar. We stayed Friday night too, and the beds were super comfy, with a good breakfast in the morning. Lovely pub and great staff!

The pub itself is beautiful, but it was so cold inside and needed heating. We went for lunch yesterday and got a friendly welcome, though the woman seemed to be managing both the restaurant and bar on her own, so service was slow. She was often on the phone while at the bar. We ordered three paninis and a cheese pizza, which took 50 minutes to arrive. There was no apology for the wait. The paninis were cold, hard and burnt, and seemed to have been sitting under the pass long enough for the cheese to harden again. The pizza was undercooked. Not a good experience.

The large pub garden has plenty of seating, and the place could be so good, but every visit leaves me a little disappointed. It feels like the owner isn't very interested and the staff put in just as little effort. The tap ale is often stale, and it can take several tries and requests to get a decent pint. They'll sort it, but not happily. Check draft beer for cloudy floating bits before trusting it. Snack choices have dwindled to a couple of sad packets of crisps. So much potential going to waste.

We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food, and most of it wasn't hot enough and was quite dried out. The chicken in one dish was like leather, and the shredded cabbage came raw and cold. When we raised the delay, the waitress said too many guests had ordered at once and that our booking didn't matter. At first, she looked alarmed when I said there were seven of us, even though we had a booking. She checked the book, said we weren't listed, then looked again and found us. We could also hear staff arguing loudly in the kitchen and later in the bar. It wasn't a great experience.

The vegetables with my roast were cold, and the pudding was definitely not Yorkshire. I don't know where it came from. The chocolate brownie for dessert was awful too. Terrible food, and a big disappointment.
