The welcome was warm and the pub itself was cosy, but the meal was a real letdown. The lasagna had only one or two pasta sheets and was swimming in bechamel sauce, while the garlic bread was barely cooked. The food used to be excellent, which made this disappointing.

Room 7 was comfortable, and I slept really well. The pub's on a quiet street with lovely views. Tony and Yvonne were great hosts, and all the other staff were lovely too. The locals clearly love them, and at breakfast the other guests were praising them as well. Nothing was too much trouble during the wonderful break my partner and I had.

After walking 28 miles, I was absolutely exhausted, and the breakfast here was just what I needed to get me through to Robin Hoods Bay. I wild camped in the pub's field back in May 2025 and meant to leave a review sooner. The owner and staff were brilliant, with great food, beer, and service. It's very dog friendly too. Cheers, guys.

We'd just walked through Storm Amy and were welcomed so warmly and looked after really well. Dinner was great, and the bed was comfortable.
