The goats cheese bombs and sauce were delightful. We also had the chicken supreme and blade of beef, both cooked just right and packed with flavour. The welcome was really warm, and the service and relaxed feel made it a lovely visit. We’ll definitely come back.

The Lake District lamb, turkey and duck confit were all beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We arrived pretty late, but the team still made us feel welcome. It was a lovely dinner.

The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. We had a family Sunday dinner on 18th Jan with a large group, and they set us up with a fantastic room all to ourselves. A great experience.

That goats cheese and apricot vegetable bake was so good, and the stick toffee pudding was the tastiest I’ve ever had. I’m vegetarian and usually don’t like meat, but I was even tempted to try a bite of my mum’s Cumberland sausages, which were seasoned perfectly. We’d walked the dales way before coming for a family dinner, and everything felt just right: friendly staff, lovely cocktails, and delicious, authentic food at a reasonable price. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

We’ll be back next year when we visit the lakes again. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and thanks for taking the time to email back and get us booked in. We just had a fantastic Sunday lunch, with amazing food. It has to be one of the best roast dinners we’ve had in a restaurant. Many thanks, Cathy.
