The Coppice Guest House

The location was good, and the woman who welcomed us was very friendly and gave us lots of information. But we didn't see her again until we were leaving two days later. This was a birthday stay and we had a disappointing time. We chose this B&B from the options on Booking.com and were gutted by the experience. The room definitely wasn't worth what we paid. There were lots of cobwebs, the bathroom floor wasn't very clean, and the mattress was very hard. Road noise made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was okay, but not worth the price, and the poached eggs tasted of vinegar. They advertise an off-site health spa, but nobody told us about it or offered it. When we wanted to use it, there was no one around to ask where it was, only an emergency number at reception.

Just got back from two lovely nights at this beautiful guest house. Beverly was so friendly and welcoming, and knows a lot about the area. Breakfast was delicious and freshly made to order, and the place was spotlessly clean. I'd definitely stay again if I'm back this way. Thank you, Beverly.

Beverly and her family made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. She's friendly and approachable, knows a great deal about Windermere, and shared personal suggestions for places to see and eat. The guest house is quiet and family run, within walking distance of the tourist spots without being right in the middle of everything. Breakfast was probably the best I've had at a B&B or guest house: local produce, nothing frozen, piping hot, with a great choice of fruit, yoghurt and cereals. I couldn't fault the place. Thank you for making my wife's birthday weekend one to remember for all the right reasons. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in the Lakes.

The room was clean, and breakfast was very tasty each morning. Beverly is a wonderful, warm and welcoming host. I've just got back from four nights here and would highly recommend it. I'd definitely stay again.
