After travelling from the West Midlands, we stopped in for lunch and were so glad we did. The restaurant was spotless, the staff made us feel welcome, and the food was first class. My husband said his homemade Royal Angus burger was the best he’d ever had, and it looked beautifully presented. I had freshly cooked haddock and chips, which was lovely. A 5* place from both of us.

We ate at the Elm Tree Inn twice while holidaying nearby, and the food was tasty, nicely presented, and well priced. The staff were friendly, and there were 3 veggie options on the menu. I tried the spinach tortellini on one visit and cauliflower with chickpea curry on the other. My husband went for sausage and mash.

We tried the camembert and chicken skewer starters, then had chicken teriyaki, seabass, and lamb rogan josh for mains. Every dish came out piping hot, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. I was honestly surprised by how good the meal was. Nothing to fault.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and I’ve stayed here several times. I’m not sure I’ll come back, though. I’d paid in advance, and only when I checked in did I find out there was a Christmas party happening. That didn’t seem like a big deal until I returned at 10.40 and could hear the party bass filling my room. They should have told me when I booked. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have stayed. I’m livid.

The Elm Tree Inn had a great atmosphere for the DJ party night, with good music and really tasty food. Everything felt relaxed and well organized, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had an amazing time and will definitely come back. Highly recommend!
