The Old Court Hotel

The staff, location and included breakfast were fantastic. The breakfast service was good too. The room surprised us when we arrived: it had a large four-poster bed, but the rest was quite basic and dated. It was nice and quiet, and the bed was comfortable, though I struggled to get comfortable with the pillows. We stayed for three nights on a trip, and I find this hotel quite difficult to review. I’ll add more details in the subsections.

After each day out, it was lovely to return to a clean room. We travelled around with my sister and brother-in-law, saw my niece at Blenheim Palace, and also went to Oxford. My husband and I stayed at the old court hotel, where there was a small hitch with the room at first, but it was quickly sorted. The staff were very polite and approachable, and breakfast was lovely. We also ate at the hotel and really enjoyed it. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Great place and great staff, thank you for making our trip so enjoyable *****

We love this place. There’s a classic four-poster bed and a jacuzzi in the room, and it has real character. Who cares about a crack here or there, or whether it’s perfect by Four in a Bed standards? It’s a hidden gem, with lovely staff and a filling breakfast. We can’t rate it highly enough. If you want perfect, soulless corporate stuff, try Premier Inn. We’ll try the restaurant next time!

It’s an easy walk into town, and having off-street parking was a real bonus. We only stayed one night, but the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. It’s essentially a budget hotel for the area, so set your expectations accordingly. I scored it with that in mind too.
