The ladies’ toilets were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while. The restaurant carpet was gross, with old food ground into it, and the place looked as if a party with 100 toddlers had just happened. Plates in a stack that was supposedly clean still had squashed food between them. The cutlery on our table was dirty, and I checked three other tables before finding a clean knife. There wasn’t the usual Premier Inn breakfast selection. We stopped for breakfast on Sunday morning during a journey. One staff member said they didn’t take walk-ins, then someone else shouted over her that it was fine. After greeting us, staff hid out back; one was leaning against the wall on her phone and another was dancing to imaginary music. I won’t visit this one again.

The food arrived promptly and was fresh, tasty, and just what we needed. We came to the Premier Inn restaurant as a large group and were impressed by how smoothly the staff organised and served us. They were warm, welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Service was attentive and friendly without making us feel rushed, and everyone we spoke with was polite, helpful, and seemed to care that we had a good time. We appreciated the effort, especially with such a big group. It made the visit relaxed and enjoyable, and we’d happily return and recommend it.

The restaurant was filthy, with sticky tables, stained furniture, a freezing room and staff who clearly didn’t want to be there. Honestly, I can’t blame them. Breakfast was just about edible, and you had to choose your coffee cup carefully to avoid stained or dirty mugs. We were spared dinner there, as just one staff member was waiting tables, clearing them and serving at the bar. The hotel is very well located. The rooms were okay, dated but good enough, and the small TV worked. For a Premier Inn, it was very disappointing.

I’ve stayed at a lot of Premier Inns, and this was one of the best. The staff were wonderful over New Year, and the cleanliness was exceptional. The food was top quality too. I worked in housekeeping many years ago, when standards were high, and this team excelled in every area. Well done to the staff and management, it was outstanding in my opinion. I’d definitely recommend it to travellers heading that way 😊👍
