The Old Ginn House Inn

The pie I had a few weeks ago was a generous portion, but it was overbaked. I took half home and found the pastry was burned black inside. I also saw a comment about the pies being salty. On this family visit, the food was fine, though the six of us, including two big lads with healthy appetites, only got one dish of chips. A couple of weeks earlier, two of us had been served almost the same amount. We mentioned it to the waitress and asked if we could have more. She said she’d see, but no extra chips arrived. These are small issues at one of my favourite local places to eat. I hope to be back next week.

So glad I found this place, even if it was only a stopover. The vibe was nice, and the food was good with generous portions. Those legendary chips are a must try. I want to have them again 😬

There’s a good range to choose from, and prices are about what you’d expect for this sort of pub restaurant. The food has been first rate every time I’ve been. I’d recommend it to family and friends.

I’d been here before and rated it 4.5 out of 5, but this last visit wasn’t good. The pies were over-salted, and the two men behind the bar taking orders seemed disengaged, almost rude. I’ll go back, but I’ve stopped recommending it to friends.
