The walk into York Center takes a steady 10 minutes, and there are buses if you'd rather not walk. We stayed two nights with Leo the spaniel, and June and her staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was right at the top of the house, with lots of space, a lovely bathroom and views across the park towards York Minster. The traditional decor is beautiful, and breakfast had everything we needed for a day out exploring. A lovely stay, we'd happily recommend it.

The park opposite was handy for taking our two dogs out first thing and before bed, and the place had a relaxed feel throughout. The owner is lovely and clearly a real dog lover, and our dogs were made to feel welcome, including in the breakfast lounge. We had cosy, warm rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast offered a good cold selection as well as a very nice cooked option. It was a 15-20 minute walk into town. Parking was a bit tricky because there are only a few spaces, though free on-street parking is available outside. We had a lovely long weekend and would recommend it for a quality break in York with a dog. The Nag’s Head around the corner is a welcoming local pub too, with great staff and good food.

We had a very comfortable room and an excellent breakfast in this beautiful, historic building. Oksana looked after us at breakfast and was so kind to our dog. It was lovely meeting her. Such a lovely BnB in York, we'll definitely be back soon!

June, the owner, was there to welcome us and gave us some helpful suggestions for places to visit. She was a delight, and the rest of the staff were lovely too. The rooms are lovely, and breakfast was absolutely amazing. It's about 15 minutes from York's main centre. No surprise this place has won so many awards.

The dining room felt cramped, even though the adjoining living room was unused and could have made it easier to move around the tables. Breakfast was limited: there was just one of each pastry and only three small pieces of cheese and ham for at least 20 guests, with nothing replenished during service. Our room was clean but very small, with a flimsy little bed. The small car park was full while we were there. Overall, it was a clean place, but its size limits what it can offer, and it felt expensive compared with many other hotels we've used.
