Best Western Kilima

We were horrified to find a large number of bed bugs when we finally went to bed. Some were small and still, while others were big enough to crawl across the beds. We had our infant son with us and felt incredibly guilty that he'd been exposed for a couple of hours before we noticed. We abandoned the stay and drove home in the early hours, a journey of an hour and a half, which caused him significant stress as he was fast asleep. The place needs fumigating. We feel disgusted. The woman at the desk had been welcoming and helpful, and we couldn't fault her service. The rooms were outdated, but that matched the hotel's decor and condition, and we don't mind old hotels with personality. The swimming pool was great. We just couldn't believe accommodation under a reputable banner like “Best Western” could be so dirty.

It's a bit of a walk to the centre, and when I stayed there more than six years ago, the hotel already felt very dated. My single room was tiny and cluttered. The staff were friendly and helpful, though, and their Full English Breakfast was great at the time. I'd never tasted bacon like it, and it was cooked perfectly.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we had a lovely time here. My son and I enjoyed the nice, warm swimming pool. Breakfast was included in the price and was nice too. Thank you!

The location was great and the service okay, but I felt completely ripped off. Two nights cost £225, plus £20 for parking, for a room that belongs in a museum. It was unbelievably outdated, down to physical keys for the room in 2025. The carpet and decor looked straight out of the late 80s or early 90s. One window wouldn't open at all, and another was propped open with a piece of wood. The floorboards creaked, and the bathroom needs a major refurbishment. I'm surprised it isn't avocado-coloured. Hyacinth Bouquet wouldn't have been impressed. I wasn't expecting Marriott, Hilton or Plaza standards, though they might have been cheaper, but this was very poor for a Best Western. I won't stay again. I'd rather use a Britannia hotel or Travelodge. Business traveller, no banana for scale in the photos.
