The Cornmill

Breakfast was cooked to order, delicious, and came with great coffee. The deep bath felt luxurious, and the beds were heavenly. Our inviting, comfortable bedroom had plenty of wardrobe space and good mirrors. The location is beautiful and full of wildlife. The fascinating hotel is a converted mill, with interesting features and loads of personality preserved. It's well maintained, and the owners are lovely and very helpful. A pleasure to stay, highly recommended.

We've been twice now and will come back again. It's comfortable and welcoming, the food is excellent, and the hosts are amiable and accommodating. A visit is easy to recommend. Great location for exploring North Yorkshire and the East Riding.

The room was roomy, and that huge bed was so comfortable. We had a fantastic little break in a lovely setting, with character everywhere you looked. Breakfast was amazing, and Karen was so friendly and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. We’d love to come back.

We stayed four nights in room 5 for our honeymoon, the same room we picked last year. When another booking meant we had to move near the end of the week, we tried the self-catering stable for the first time. It’s just as beautiful as the B&B rooms, with loads of space, antiques and little quirks. The facilities made it easy to settle in and feel at home. The Cornmill has felt like a home away from home on our repeat visits over the past 3-4 years. Karen & Chris are lovely hosts and quick to help with questions about the stay or local area. Don’t miss the cooked breakfast, especially the black pudding! Thanks again for the warm hospitality, Chris & Karen. We’re looking forward to coming back next September.
