The Feathers Hotel

The staff were a real credit to the hotel, friendly, professional and always ready to help. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and shown to our table for afternoon tea. The service and food were excellent, and they made us feel quite special. Our room was a lovely surprise. The furnishings and decor had clearly been thought through, with heavy curtains and nice tiebacks, plus a blind that let us move around privately in the morning. There were two very comfortable chairs with a small coffee table between them, which you don’t often get in hotel rooms. The bed was generously sized and clean, with extra cushions. The bathroom was excellent, with a walk-in shower and toiletries, and the robe and slippers were a welcome extra. There were plenty of plug sockets, which is a pet peeve of mine when rooms don’t have enough. We also had an espresso machine, tea-making facilities and bottled water. I’d highly recommend The Feathers Hotel. Keep up the good work, Coaching Inns.

We had a lovely night away at The Feathers, a relaxed, unpretentious place with rooms in Helmsley. The room was great, clean and comfortable, and we had a fantastic three-course dinner followed by breakfast. The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was excellent value and just the tonic heading into spring. Highly recommend.

My wife picked The Feathers for a birthday treat, and she chose well. Our room was clean, quiet and really good, and everyone on staff was welcoming and friendly. A special thanks to Chris, the night manager. He sorted out a small problem with our room key. He also spotted the box of beers from Helmsley Brewing that I would otherwise have left behind in the bar. Cheers, Chris!

The room was on the small side, but they still fitted in bedside tables with USB charging points in the lamps, a TV, a big mirror and a dressing table. It was comfortable, with lots of pillows and cushions, and a modern bathroom stocked with some lovely products. Everyone was smiley, happy and super welcoming. There’s a good choice of breakfast and drinks, and the hotel sits right on the square, with a Co-op, cafes and pubs close by. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks!
