Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Aberdeen

I should’ve checked the one star reviews before I booked. At check in, nobody was at the desk, and I had to find a cleaning lady to fetch someone. Customer service is horrible. The general manager won’t return my calls about an issue, and the assistant GM hung up when I simply asked about the GM’s schedule so I’d know when to call back. DO NOT STAY AT FAIRFIELD INNS! Like another customer said, they treat you like garbage!

I found out about the rigid 48 hour cancellation policy only after checking my credit card statement. Nobody told me about it when I booked or when I cancelled. The office woman seemed focused on keeping 100% of the room cost and repeating policy, without caring why I had to cancel. If you read every bit of fine print on the confirmation, you’ll see it, but who does that? They don’t seem to care about losing future business or getting bad publicity. I tried to work something out with the GM, but the office gal sends calls to his voicemail and he doesn’t call back. Corporate just sends your complaint back to the same front desk woman, who hangs up on you. I should have read the earlier complaints and stayed at the Holiday Inn like I usually do. Lesson learned. Do not stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites. The office staff service is horrible.

When we got to the front desk, our reservation had been cancelled. Then they told us to pay 130.00 above our booked rate for “incidentals.” Kaden didn’t seem to know what the charge was for, though he said it would be refunded at the end of the stay. I started recording on my phone and asked him to repeat himself. In our room, the assistant manager Rebecca told me Kaden was a minor and couldn’t be video taped. She said she’d call the police and have us removed unless I apologized. I can’t believe an assistant manager would speak to a guest that way. We’ll report this to Marriot headquarters and ask that Rebecca be reprimanded. Needless to say, I’ll never stay at another marriot.

Breakfast was good each morning, and the staff were very nice. I enjoyed staying here.
