Hampton Inn & Suites Southern Pines-Pinehurst

I've stayed here many times, and the rooms are consistently clean with a great breakfast. Miss Margaret at the front desk always greets me warmly, even when I show up very late without a reservation, and finds the best available room and rate. On my recent visit, several tired, grumpy people were waiting around 1 a.m. Miss Margaret stayed cheerful and gracious and got everyone checked in as quickly as she could. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

I've stayed here about 30 times for work over the past 10 years, but the recent remodel may put me off coming back. They replaced the regular desks with a ridiculous round table. Maybe my king room was the only one with it, though I doubt it. I need a rectangular desk for work, not a table made for sitting around and playing cards. Unless I can confirm there's a conventional hotel desk in my room, I probably won't stay here again.

The check-in was fast and efficient, and the desk clerk seemed to enjoy their job. That makes a difference. We found the room clean, spacious, and in good working order, and appreciated the included hot breakfast the next morning. The hotel was conveniently placed for our travels, and we'll choose it again when we're in the area.

The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the team was friendly, professional, and attentive to the details. I really appreciated the high standards and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
