Super 8 By Wyndham Aberdeen Southern Pines

The bed was comfy, that’s about the only good thing I can say. The room was filthy and had no amenities, not even soap or shampoo. No coffee or cups either. I was surprised they’d even provided toilet paper. Just gross. I’ll never stay there again.

We were first given a roach-infested room, then moved to a nicer one. We had to turn the air way up to keep bugs out, but the thought of them stayed with us, so we left all our bags in the trunk the whole time. The owner refused a refund for three nights totaling $210, which I think is ridiculous. I should’ve been offered my money back or another room. I don’t live with bugs at home, so why should I sleep somewhere infested? They need better business practices.

The staff were nice, but the rooms weren’t. We asked for non-smoking, yet the room reeked of cigarettes and definitely irritated my asthma. Other than the bedding, things were pretty dirty and grimy. We saw no signs of bedbugs, but there were roaches behind the bed and in the bathroom, so we kept the lights on the whole stay to try to keep bugs away from us and our stuff. The toilet didn’t work from the start.

We booked two rooms for two nights, about $160, but didn’t enjoy the stay. Both rooms felt sad and unclean, and there were roaches everywhere. The phone in the room didn’t work, and neither did the TV or remote, so I had to go to the front desk to ask how to get it working.
