Hampton Inn Abilene

Wann was understanding and listened to our concerns. He suggested contacting his manager, Pam, but whenever we called, we were told she was busy, had gone home for the day, or wasn't there. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Abilene, Texas, from November 7 to November 9 and were extremely disappointed by the property's condition and management. The first-floor tiles were cracked and chipped, and there was cardboard taped with duct tape and topped with a cone in the pool area. Our room remote was old and barely worked. When we asked a housekeeper for another, we were told the manager wouldn't let staff give out new remotes because of the new TV brackets. That was a major hassle, especially since our son couldn't connect his Xbox to the TV. Breakfast was disappointing too. The milk marked “cold” was warm, the fruit was rotten, smelled foul, and leaked liquid. Saturday's food wasn't hot, and what was in the warmer was cold. When we got back from the Abilene Zoo around 4 p.m., the breakfast area was still dirty, with crumbs, sticky tables, and old food scattered around. We paid over $280 a night, but the carpets were old and the whole property felt neglected. The condition and management fell far short of Hampton Inn and Hilton standards. It urgently needs a full renovation and stronger property management. I hope Hilton takes this feedback seriously and reviews the property's maintenance and management. This stay didn't meet the quality or comfort I expect from Hilton.
