Staff were very friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to get daily housekeeping when the lobby sign says “no housekeeping.” They never emptied the room trash, though. The place and room were clean but run down and badly in need of upgrades. Breakfast was just okay, with too few choices, and it could use meat and better bread or toast. The AC thermostat showed “60,” but the room never got below 72-73. Being on a state highway by the interstate meant heavy car and truck traffic and noise day and night. This is a two-star motel, fine for a night if it costs $60-80. I was price-gauged to $200 a night because of a racing event in town that weekend, which made it a total ripoff.

We found our go-to place for trips to Gainesville at the Quality Inn Alachua, after trying other Choice Hotel properties around the area. My wife and I come down about five times a year and have stayed here for the past few years. The hotel is conveniently located near local attractions, shopping, and dining, and the cozy, comfortable room always lets us sleep well. The staff greet us with friendly smiles every time. Shelley, the daytime Service Desk Attendant, and Chris, the evening Service Desk Attendant, stay focused on what guests need and go above and beyond to make our stays better. I highly recommend the Quality Inn Alachua if you need somewhere to stay near Gainesville.

Diane and Chris were very helpful, and the breakfast staff were friendly too. One room had a heating problem, but they sorted it quickly and made sure I was comfortable. A comfortable stay.

On my recent visit on Dec. 15th, the lady at the desk was extremely polite and helpful. The beds and pillows were excellent, the room smelled really nice, and you can't beat the spot right off the interstate.
