Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Albany Downtown

Sedik made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived, with a warm smile and genuine kindness. He was professional, patient with all our questions, and handled requests quickly. His attention to detail and willingness to help made us feel valued and turned an already good stay into a memorable one. People like him are rare, and he’s a real asset to the hotel. Thanks, Sedik. We’ll definitely return because of you.

My room was cold, the hallways had little or no heat, and the window was completely blocked, so there was no natural light. The door had mechanical problems and didn’t lock itself. My key kept failing at the gym, and several replacement keys didn’t work either. The reception staff felt unwelcoming, were inattentive and unhelpful, and showed no interest in fixing things. They said they’d get maintenance to look at the problem, but the same issues came up repeatedly during my stay. Staff need proper customer service training. I only stayed because other hotels were sold out. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, with an awful room and poor amenities. I’d avoid it.

Maya at reception was so sweet and welcoming. When I passed by late at night while she was working, I always made a point of saying hi.

The room was immaculate, with a huge, comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom that had a separate shower area and a bathtub we really enjoyed. The view was incredible and better than we’d expected for this trip. The location worked perfectly too, close to Albany’s main spots and surrounded by good places to eat and go out. My husband and I felt cared for from the moment we arrived. Sedik and Iris were exceptionally polite, helpful, and genuinely attentive to making our stay a good one. Their warmth made us feel at home. We’d been treated poorly at other hotels before finding this one, so the difference was striking. This place won us over, and we’ll absolutely be back because of the experience and Sedik and Iris’s service. Highly recommended. Thank you both!
