The only snag during our two nights was that the meeting room projector wouldn't work with the HDMI wall port. Otherwise, the rooms, meeting space, shared areas, and grounds were all clean and well kept. Staff were helpful and kind, breakfast was plentiful, and the attendant stayed on top of things. We had 25 rooms for a group of 60 high school students, and the stay felt like what I expect from a well-run Hampton Inn. I'd return and recommend it. I was wary before arriving because this property had mixed reviews and Albany seemed to have few appealing hotel options. Guest experiences can vary depending on who is working and what's going on at the hotel, but I didn't see anything that backed up the negative reviews. It's not the Four Seasons, but if you want a clean, comfortable, safe, reliable stay at a reasonable price for yourself, family, friends, or a school group, give the Hampton Inn at Albany Mall a look.

Nene at the front desk was great, and once I got into my room the stay went smoothly. It was clean, too. Check-in ran a little late because the room wasn't ready at 3, but the wait was short.

Jessica at the front desk helped us get the room we wanted, which I appreciated. We had to leave a day early because of work schedules. As a Diamond member, I understood we could check out early and have late checkout until 1 p.m. I told the desk at 10 that we were leaving early but might need until 1. She was rude and said there'd be about a $46 fee if the room wasn't empty by noon. We left at 11:46, but the fee was already on the bill. I called later and they thankfully removed it. She had so many tattoos on her arms that you could barely see her skin. Tattoo girl needs better training.

The shower was unusable. There was a very visible clump of dirty hair, including a ponytail, in the drain. I tried cleaning it myself, but it was so old and stuck that I couldn't get it out. Disgusting. I messaged the front desk in the app and got no reply.
