The location was the main reason this worked out okay. Restaurants and even the cinema are within walking distance, though we didn't manage to go during our three-night, four-day schedule. Check-in was easy. We booked through Expedia, then paid Marriott directly, so we couldn't use the military discount. There's no free airport shuttle. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day. We made the bed each day as we usually do, but came back to find it still the same way, although the bins had been emptied and fresh towels left. The pool and hot tub weren't much use to us either: kids were jumping around, and one night there were more than seven adults in the tub along with the kids. Breakfast was okay, and I appreciated being able to ask for oat milk and finding some healthy options. It was an okay stay for the location, but not the value I expect from Marriott.

My main complaint was how much noise came through the thin walls. I could hear nearly every door shutting or slamming, so light sleepers may want earplugs. I also couldn't get the heater fan to stay on continuously for background noise. Maybe I was doing something wrong, since another Fairfield Inn I'm at now has a constant-speed fan that works. Otherwise, check-in was quick, and the lot had plenty of free parking. I used a digital key and my room was ready at 9am, though I arrived at 3pm and got keys right away. It was a standard two-queen room with a large wall-mounted smart TV, around 40 channels, and the option to log into Netflix or Amazon. The location is just far enough from I-25 that road noise wasn't too bad, and my west-facing room was quiet. There were plenty of outlets and a standard bathroom. The pool and Jacuzzi had a strong smell of old, heavily chlorinated water. They need to be emptied, cleaned, and refilled. Even with that, as a Marriott Platinum member, I'd stay again without hesitation.

The freeway noise was constant, and the front desk staff didn't greet me when I walked by. The bed was uncomfortable, with one side of the king permanently collapsed. Housekeeping should've spotted and reported it. The bathroom faucet sits so far back that washing your hands means reaching against the back of the sink, and the shower shelf was broken. Dust was clearly coming through the vents. I'm not impressed. If this hadn't been a work trip, I'd have asked for my money back. It's not worth the hassle, and I'll stay somewhere else next time I'm in town. After reading some other reviews, I took another star off. Some people just don't care.

Update, January 2026: Two branches of our company are staying here now after a terrible experience at another hotel. It makes it easier for us to meet up for dinners after work, and they agree with me that the hotel and service are top-notch. My company first booked rooms here for our group, and it's been great for what we need. The rooms are clean, the front desk is friendly and helpful, breakfast hours suit us, and the pool hours work well too.

I spent nine days here on my last trip to Albuquerque. Getting around was convenient, with restaurants within walking distance and easy access between the on-ramp and off-ramp for Fwy 25. The parking lot and nearby area were well lit. The lobby and breakfast setup had the familiar Marriott layout, and there was infused water by the lobby when available. The room had some wear: a loose faucet handle, a toilet lever that was hard to press, and a burned-out bathroom bulb. Housekeeping repeatedly missed soap, bath towels, and toilet paper. Rooms facing the parking lot could be noisy because it shares space with nearby restaurants. The indoor pool was taped off. There was only one set of laundry machines, and it was out of service without any sign posted. The gym bench was broken with no repair date listed, and the gym wallpaper was peeling with what looked like mold behind it, which felt like a safety concern.
