Kinn Guesthouse Bay View

We were surprised by how many stairs there were to reach the rooms. Still, it's a gorgeous place in a fun neighborhood, with cozy rooms, thoughtful design details, and nice extras in the public area. The restaurant downstairs was just right for dinner on a wintry night. Hope to come back when it's warmer.

This is a very self serve hotel, so if you want lots of hands on help, it may not be for you. There's no front desk or staff on site, and communication happens by text. When I called to reserve at first, the representative wasn't sure how to do it and recommended booking online. Later, when I texted that the kitchen was nearly out of coffee, someone said they'd send more, but I'm not sure they ever did. We left around 10am and it still hadn't been restocked. At 7:45 there had only been one pod, which the three of us shared. We'd booked the Bay View location with two friends because the hotel was otherwise full, and were pleasantly surprised by how roomy and comfortable the room was for three. The hotel was clean, with a beautiful shared kitchen, and the Ursa bath products were a highlight. I liked them enough to buy the hand soap from Ursa's shop across the street. It reminded me of a fancy hostel, and the location makes it a steal. I'd stay again, but bring my own coffee stuff. It's a good fit for Airbnb type travelers who are used to doing things themselves.

We've stayed at Kinn for couples trips and girls' nights, and the location is perfect, with lots of great restaurants, bars, and event venues nearby. We recently tried the downtown location and loved that too, but Bay View is still our favorite.

The rooms are above an Italian restaurant, which we didn't try. There's a lovely shared space with a cozy seating area, TV, and games, plus a well-stocked kitchen, dishwasher, and laundry. It was a really lovely stay.
