The place looks run-down all over, and the entry door has a broken window. The lobby was empty, with nobody up front. They don't even seem to care about having someone there.

Our room was awful, and I couldn't believe they thought it was acceptable to put anyone in it. Cracks ran across the ceiling, wallpaper was peeling, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling and around most fixtures, dust built up on the walls, burns on the bedding, and long loose hairs throughout the room. We stayed only because we were traveling with a group and had no other choice. My friends got one of the remodeled rooms, which seemed nice apart from needing some upkeep. If you stay here, insist on one of those. I've stayed at many Quality Hotels during extensive travel, and this was the worst. Quality Suites by Choice Hotels offered neither quality nor a choice but to get through the night.

After several weeks here, I'd only consider returning because of the price, and I'd bring my own pillows. This seems priced for contractors on per diem or people staying a night or two. I travel often for work and usually spend 3-4 weeks at hotels under this umbrella. This has been the worst one so far. I don't get free rooms for reviews, and if I did, I wouldn't want one here. The hotel feels very dated as soon as you walk in. Nobody greets you at the desk, they just stare until you start talking. There's caution tape over a side entrance, the rugs are barely recognizable, and the elevator feels crammed into a closet. It also looks like a family lives on the interior balcony above the entrance. The ride to my second-floor room felt perilous, like each trip might be the last. I usually bring my own pillows but didn't this time, planning to buy some the next day. I regretted it. Mine had yellow stains and what looked like blood droplets. I put the stained pillows on the sofa with their cases on the floor, but housekeeping kept putting them back on the bed for two weeks. There were lots of gnats in the room, which I later learned is common in NM. The windows are locked and sealed with silicone, but don't fit properly. A one-inch gap whistles in the wind, especially on weekends. The room doors slam shut, which got irritating after a few nights. The hotel is mostly clean despite its age and the odd lobby smell, and housekeeping does a good job. My room was cleaned weekly, but I kept finding hair on towels and sheets. I understand people shed, but I don't want hair on my bed or face after a shower. Package delivery is convenient, though you should track your orders and check who signs for them. If you point out an Amazon package at the desk, they hand it over without checking your name, room number, or ID. By my third week they recognized me and handed over my packages as I came in.

The place was so bad that we skipped the breakfast. We needed somewhere to stop after a long day, but this was by far the worst hotel we've stayed at. There were stains on the bed, hair from previous guests, and several large boogers on the wall. The second TV by the pull-out sofa was broken, the coffee table was broken, and the AC filter looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Our second-floor window had no screen or lock, which felt very unsafe. The area seemed shady, and though they say they're pet friendly, there's no grassy spot for pets to use. One side door had something thrown through it, leaving the glass shattered and not blocked off. The shower head was cross-threaded and sprayed water everywhere, and there was no hot water. The shower was one of many other things that made it seem the owners don't care about the hotel or guests. We asked for a refund shortly after arriving and seeing the condition. They said the best they could do was move us to another room.
