Ramada by Wyndham Albuquerque Airport

The customer service staff and housekeeping team were kind and helpful, and breakfast was great, especially the green chilly soup. The room itself was nasty. The owner needs to replace the wood floor because it's very dirty and some of it has come loose. There was no iron, ironing board, or hair dryer in my room, so I had to go to the office to borrow them and bring them back. The microwave was missing its tray. In general, the hotel is too old and dirty and needs remodeling.

This motel is filthy. I've stayed here on and off for a year because I work down the road, but I'll never come back. It needs management that cares about the guests and property. Under new manager Brian, two girls with green hair work here, one in management and the other a clerk. When there's a problem, they don't help solve it. Mostly they just stand and look at you. I told the younger green-haired girl I'd recently been diagnosed with arthritis in both kneecaps and needed a first-floor room. I could stay on another floor, but the elevator has never worked in all the time I've been coming here. The ice machine hasn't worked either. On one stay, the girl gave me a first-floor room, but its TV had a black screen. She said there were no other rooms. I'd stayed two nights, and there were notes to the clerk saying guests had already reported the TV problem, but she still rented it to me knowing about it. On another stay, the TV was out again, with only lines across the screen. The lobby TV always works for management and the clerks. I also told management about drug activity at the motel, with people coming and going late at night. The lounge chairs are stained badly, some looking like they have blood on them. The building's back end has been boarded up for months. I've called corporate about some of the issues. Places like this have been shut down for filth and drug activity, and I suspect this one could be next if it doesn't clean up and remodel soon. The only good thing is the breakfast, which is great. Watch your charges. The automatic billing does what it wants, and if it overcharges you, they can't or won't reverse it. You're out of luck until it corrects itself with your bank. Make sure you pay attention to your charges.

It's a cheap, run-down place near the airport, with two restaurants next door. The shuttle driver and front desk person were nice enough. Wyndham has gone downhill over the years. The beds are soft, which my husband liked, but the pillows are small. We had just two regular coffee pods, two cups, and two regular towels. There were no towels by the pool around 5:30 p.m. The laminate floor should be easier to clean, but my socks were gross within an hour. The tub drain ring was rusty, and there was mildew all over the shower grout and floor. The bathroom reeked of it. A small brown decorative cloth on the bed had a cigarette burn. The hot tub was warm, not hot.

The rooms had supposedly been redone, but this was the worst Ramada I’ve ever stayed at. Both rooms had soft spots in the floors, and our key cards kept quitting for no clear reason. Only one of the three ice machines worked. There were lots of homeless people hanging around the parking lot. The contractors did a terrible job, and the hotel should ask for its money back. I wouldn’t recommend it.
