Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Knoxville Airport Alcoa

Fairfield is one of the better hotel choices around Maryville/ Alcoa. It's clean, modern, and comfortable, with the usual breakfast buffet. Access to Alcoa Hwy is safe in both directions, unlike at other nearby hotels. My one very minor gripe is that I didn't get complimentary water for my Bonvoy loyalty. I know they aren't required to provide it, but it's always appreciated when a hotel does.

The room itself was clean, but the bed was old, hard, and extremely uncomfortable, and there wasn't an extra blanket in the closet. Breakfast was terrible. While I was there, I overheard Todd telling another employee he didn't care if the hotel burned to the ground. We were very disappointed with our stay at this Fairfield Marriott. From check-in, Todd, the front desk person, was rude and unfriendly. He didn't seem to want to be working at the Marriott at all.

I read reviews before booking, and what I found there seemed night and day from my experience. I wouldn't recommend this location. After tax and the incidental hold, it cost $160, which definitely wasn't a bargain. I checked in after 1 am. The desk associate wasn't there when I came in, but I didn't wait long, presumably because there was a camera in the room behind the desk he came out of. He checked me in quickly. The tables and bathroom were clean, but the pillows smelled, the room was musty, and the old bed was uncomfortable. The comforter seemed to have been reused countless times. It had little blood spots from another person and smelled terrible.

The roads around here are a bit tricky, and there's not much right next door, though plenty is only a short drive away. Still, it's a good location close to the airport. The hotel seems very new, everything is clean, and all the staff I've met have been super nice and friendly.
