After flying in from New York, my fiancée and I got to the hotel we’d booked online, only to be told we had to be 21. That requirement wasn’t mentioned on the phone or in the reservation. The staff were rude and careless when I tried to explain, and I even spoke with the manager. They refused to refund me, so I lost the money for all three nights. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.

The dog in the room next door barked and whined constantly, and woke me at 6 a.m. on Saturday. Then, while we were packing around 9:20 or 9:30, with checkout still 30 to 40 minutes away, the cleaning lady opened our door without knocking or announcing herself. Checkout was 10 a.m., not 11 like at other hotels. We were also told we had to return the single key card at checkout or lose our deposit, no matter how many people were staying in the room. I’d booked a smoking room with a queen bed but got a non-smoking room with two beds. The fridge leaked puddles onto the floor. The owner wiped them up, put a towel down, and told me to leave it there to catch the water. The TV was so scratched and damaged I could barely see the screen. When the owner came to deal with the fridge, I mentioned the barking dog, but he ignored me and just asked, “Is that it?” as he left. I asked to move rooms, and he said no, the only option was to cancel the reservation. About an hour later, a handyman came to replace the TV. It took over two hours. First he didn’t have the right tool to remove it from the wardrobe. When he came back, the replacement wasn’t the right size, so I waited again for him to return with the right tools. He eventually brought another man, and together they removed the broken TV and set up the new one. The owners were rude, and things in the room were broken or didn’t work. I’ll never stay there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I booked through a website and paid a security deposit for the night, then the hotel charged me another deposit when I arrived. The room smelled like garbage and was disgusting. I lifted the cover and found a bed bug. When I took the key back to the desk, they treated me like I was lying until I showed them a photo of the bug. One star only because I can’t give less. Don’t ever stay here!

It was very cheap, and you get what you pay for. The place was run-down and old, with bugs crawling on the walls at night. I also waited an hour to check in because nobody was behind the desk.
