Boldt Castle is right across the water, and the views from the hotel are stunning. The rooms feel a little dated, but with that scenery outside, it didn’t bother us much. We slept comfortably, and there were several pillow options. There’s also an indoor pool, balconies, a restaurant, and a really hot shower. Alexandria Bay is a charming spot for families, whether you’re after a quick break from Syracuse or a fishing trip on the St. Lawrence River.

We got a comfortable room with a jacuzzi tub for a good price. The restaurant downstairs served tasty food in generous portions, and the bar’s drinks were good and priced about normally for the area.

The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff were excellent. We were here May 22-24 for our 33rd anniversary. I still think this is the best place in Alex bay, though it’s slipped in quality since our previous visit. The spa wasn’t working, the fourth-floor hallway rug needs replacing, and there wasn’t complimentary morning coffee.

The pool and hot tub were in awful shape, with piles of dirt sitting on the bottom, so I wouldn’t recommend this place at $200 a night. Our room itself was nice, and the location is very central. The restaurant, bartenders, and food were all great. We did have a key that didn’t work, but they replaced it without a fuss. Then the TV wouldn’t turn on. After trying to troubleshoot it, the front desk person swapped it for a much smaller one, and within an hour that TV had no sound. We had to wait until the next day to get the audio fixed.
