Metro Apartments

For what we paid, this was more than okay for our group of five, including two couples. The apartment was clean and spacious, the staff were nice, and the location worked well, about a 10-minute walk to Times Square and close to subway and bus service. We also had a nice view of the Empire State Building. It's near the coach station, so there was some noise, though you're in NYC and some traffic noise is to be expected. You don't get the service of a hotel, but this isn't one, so I wouldn't hold that against them. You could pay less somewhere else or find a better place, but I'm not sure you can get both in the same neighborhood. The price-to-service balance is very good, and I'd recommend it to small groups of friends who want to travel cheaply without giving up comfort.

They overbooked and didn't give me the room I'd reserved and paid for in full almost a month ahead. They were thoroughly unapologetic, then sent me on a goose chase around NYC to find another property they'd arranged. When we returned to this hotel, they put us in a 'Deluxe' room that smelled awful. We moved to another room that seemed cleaner and smelled better, but soon saw a good-sized cockroach crawling on the wall in the kitchenette, next to the bed. The location is decent for Times Square, but after this awful experience I'd avoid the place. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I rented an apartment in this building for a year in 2016. An envelope with important paperwork was delivered to the front desk, but when I went to collect it, it had been opened and was empty. I asked the manager to check the camera footage. She first said she didn't know the password, then a few days later said the footage was lost and blamed the police officers who came to investigate. The manager was rude and unprofessional. I don't recommend staying in this building.

I stayed in the apartment during spring 2014 while in the USA for business. It was quiet, clean, and spacious, and the staff were professional and friendly. Times Square was just a few minutes' walk away, which was convenient.
