Getting out on the St. Lawrence River each day for fishing and cruising was easy, since our boat was just steps away. We also took quick drives to Alexandria Bay and Clayton for local history, museums, walks, shops, restaurants, artisans, good food, and craft beer. We stayed four nights and five days in a sweet, clean cottage stocked with everything you’d need. The Ledges staff were prompt, courteous, friendly, and excellent at what they do. They hadn’t overlooked a thing inside or outside, right down to the little details. The grounds were meticulously kept, and the flower gardens looked like they belonged in a magazine. We didn’t get a chance to relax by the beautiful pool or in the hammock area, though they both looked so inviting. I rarely give five stars, but the Ledges earned them. We’ll be back. Thank you, Ledges family! Blessings abound!

Fall has become our tradition here. I’ve come with my husband and son for a few years now, and every stay has been a pleasure. The cottages are beautiful, clean, and so cozy. We love starting the morning with coffee by the fireplace, looking out over the lovely grounds. After dark, sitting by the fire pit with a glass of wine under the stars is just perfect. The water and castle views are stunning, too. We’ll keep coming back each fall for years.

We had a fire pit right off the dock, and it was fully stocked with firewood. The place was super clean, with water views from every window. The Lighthouse was just perfect, and we loved having a private porch and balcony right on the water. My words and photos can’t really show how nice it was. Our group will definitely come back, hopefully for a longer stay.

The balcony off one bedroom had amazing views over the boats to Boldt Castle. From the main-floor deck, we couldn’t see the castle because of the marina boats, but the water view was lovely anyway. We stayed at the Lighthouse, right on the water, after exploring Clayton and Alexandria Bay. It was clean, comfortable, and had what we needed for a relaxing couples trip. Check-in, check-out, and communication were excellent. Some upkeep is due, as at many places in Alexandria Bay: a rusty shower curtain rod, broken or missing solar deck lights, shower tiles that need regrouting, and deck boards that should be replaced. Still, we had a lovely, restful stay and the convenient waterfront location helped us overlook those things. I’d stay here again.

We picked peak fall color for our visit, and the leaves and cooler weather were beautiful. Sitting on the deck with hot coffee and watching the boats go by was a favorite part. I celebrated my 57th birthday with my kids in the Gatehouse 2 cottage at the Ledges Resort. Each cottage has its own style, with thoughtful touches around the property. The water skis on the wall and framed fish art fit our St. Lawrence River stay in Alexandria Bay. The cottages are spread across six acres, with an in-ground pool that we couldn’t use because it was out of season. They also have boat rentals, canoes, and kayaks. A high ledge in the center has a gazebo with a great view of Boldt Castle. We explored nearby Kring Point State park and Keewaydin State Park. The kids especially liked the town beach and river walk, and the footbridge to Casino Island, where they could take in the postcard views. There’s so much around for anyone who loves the outdoors and nature. The Ledges is a great base for Thousand Islands adventures, and a lovely place for a special celebration. We loved it!
