The Lion

The higher rooms have amazing views, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Venture Sports, the ski valet on the Lion’s bottom level, was convenient and gave great service. It’s a bit pricey, but I think the value was there. Restaurants, local shuttles on the in-town bus, and Gondola 19 when it’s open are all close by. If Gondola 19 isn’t running, the nearby bus stop makes it easy to reach Gondola One in Vail Village.

We came in the off-season and had a great time. The staff were helpful with recommendations, and the ski shop shared useful advice about when to come back for better snow. Our condo had a kitchenette, washer and dryer, and lovely mountain views. There’s a shuttle pickup and drop-off right in front, making it easy to get to Vail Village. I’ll definitely be back!

We’ve stayed here a few times, and each visit has impressed me more. The rooms are beautiful, with even better views, and the location makes it easy to reach the mountains, restaurants, shops, and everything in between. A perfect place to stay.

The snowstorm changed my plans. I’d meant to travel two more hours before stopping, but the front desk person was pleasant and helpful even at that late hour. The room and balcony looked like a postcard in the snow, and I got a great night’s sleep. I only wish I’d packed a swimsuit so I could sit in the hot tub while it snowed. Once the plows had gone by, I headed out. I hope to come back someday on a trip I planned in advance. I’m sure this could be a five-star stay.
